HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?

THE PROCESS

(for Small Business, Nonprofit, Church / Ministry)

  1. I read what you already have.
  2. We have a conversation, to find out what you're trying to say and WHY.
    • What is the message?
    • What is the purpose?
    • Who is it for?
  3. Familiarize myself with the topic and your target audience (research, interviews, competition).
  4. Then, the actual writing begins for me.

"What if I don't have anything written down?"

Not a problem, the process is the same.  I just begin at step 2 and really focus on the purpose of your message.  Trust me, you already know what you'd like to say.  You just need someone to organize your thoughts and express them from a different perspective, one that genuinely speaks to your target audience.

Fees established on an individual basis.  Our conversation is important to determine specifics and establish the scope of the project (guidelines, revisions versus orginal creation, timeline, budget).  A thorough assessment of your project helps me to quote the best rate.

Initial 30-minute conversation (and, if needed, one (1) follow-up phone call) to give price quote provided at no cost.

THE PROCESS (for Authors)

  1. I read what you already have.
  2. Provide an editorial assessment of your manuscript with detailed recommendations.
  3. We have a conversation to share honest feedback on recommendations, then come to an agreement on the service level.
  4. We determine the purpose of your story, your intended audience, and the ultimate message.
  5. Begin the actual work of editing.

Rates vary depending on manuscript size and service level.  Fee determination based on editing service level established with agreement from both editor and author.

Initial 30-minute conversation (and, if needed, one (1) follow-up phone call) to give price quote provided at no cost.

Our conversation is important to determine specifics for a thorough assessment and quote, whether you plan to self-publish or pursue an agent to represent your manuscript to a major publishing house.
